Associate professor to the University of The Philippines Diliman (Philippines), of the Muséum national d’histoire naturelle de Paris (France) and of the Université Moulay Ismail (Morocco).
Since 2011 expert at the European Community for tasks in connection with the Seventh Framework Programme for Research, technological development and demonstration activities.
Director of the excavations of Pirro Nord (Apricena, FG, Lower Paleolithic) and Ciota Ciara (Borgosesia, VC, Middle Paleolithic).
Co-director of the International Erasmus Mundus master in Quaternary and Prehistory.
Coordinator of the FP7 Project (People-IRSES) “Man and Environments in Morocco during Quaternary”.
Main areas of research: technology and economic comportment during the Middle and Lower Palaeolithic in Italy; The first peopling of Europe; The Middle Palaeolithic and the transitional cultures of the Sahara desert (Morocco); the first Homo sapiens peopling ind South-East Asia. Lithic technology and experimentation.
