Francesco Girotti has been working in the management of European programmes of education and training for 12 years. Since 2004 he works at the European Programmes Unit within the International Relations Office at the University of Bologna. His main expertise is the management of Higher Education (HE) international projects focusing on student mobility, Joint Degree development, and structural and policy measures. In the last years he has been working on the promotion and implementation of HE European Programmes, with a particular focus on Erasmus Mundus Programmes. Francesco Girotti has been the project coordinator of the JOIMAN Structural Network on Joint Degree Management and Administration and was intensely involved in the JOI.CON training project. He is member of the Steering Committee of the Utrecht Network and furthermore participates in the Utrecht Network Task Force on Joint Degrees. He has been nominated by the European Commission as external member of the Steering Committee of the EMQA project for the evaluation of the quality of Erasmus Mundus Programmes. Since 2008 he is external evaluator of EU Education projects for the Italian Erasmus National Agency and for the EACEA. He has been external expert and trainer on Joint Programmes and EU Programmes for education within projects, training courses and Master programmes run by NUFFIC, Compostela Group of Universities, Università Cà Foscari – Venezia, Università Cattolica Sacro Cuore di Milano and Fondazione RUI.
